Charlie Kirk took to Twitter after it was discovered that former President Donald Trump was indicted on Thursday by Biden’s Department of Justice, suggesting that all Republican presidential candidates should show up to Miami in support of the former president. Trump is set to appear in federal court in Miami to be arraigned on the charges this Tuesday.
Kirk tweeted: “Every ‘Republican’ running for President should suspend their campaign and go to Miami as a show of support. If you don’t, you are part of the problem. Either we have an opposition party or we don’t. GO to Miami Tuesday, and show solidarity [sic] or we will mark you as part of the opposition.”
Kirk’s words are reminiscent of the late Andrew Breitbart’s words during CPAC leading up to the 2012 presidential election. Breitbart suggested that it did not matter who the conservative presidential candidate was; all that mattered was that the Republican Party had a united front against the opposition. This appears to be what Kirk was trying to get across in his tweet.
Trump’s latest indictment comes after Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland deployed the FBI to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in August 2022 to seize documents that were claimed to have been classified, thus not allowed to be in the possession of a former president.
Trump took to Truth Social after the indictment, saying: “The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, DC, with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is ‘secured’ by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time.”
“I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 pm. I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”
Trump posted again: “This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”
