A Drag Queen Story Hour has sold out at the City of Perth Library, Australia featuring Cougar Morrision, but the most disturbing part of the development is that the event is geared toward children between two and eight years old. It is unclear if children older than the age of eight are permitted to attend the event.

Twitter user @thorsome2 posted a tweet about the event, clearly disturbed that a potentially adult-oriented event would be targeted at children as young as two years of age. The tweet read: “Drag Queen Story time at City of Perth Library is a sold out event. Since when is Adult entertainment suitable for ages 2-8 years old! ABC has a DQ with the name ‘Cougar’ WHAT IS A COUGAR? Someone who dates younger than their own age. AKA GROOMER!”

"This is Cougar, the adult entertainer who’s going to be reading to & indoctrinating 2-8 year olds in gender identity at City of Perth Library tomorrow."

A photo of the event details was posted to Twitter, which reads: “This event celebrates inclusivity and is being held on the international day against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia.” However, it appears that the definition of “phobia” has shifted from the fear of something to the mere disapproval of it.

Editor-in-Chief of The Post Millennial recently quote-tweeted a banner published by Pink News, saying: “Literally no one is afraid of bisexuals… Not anyone. Not anywhere.”

In a report published by ABC Radio Perth in late March, drag queen Cougar Morrison attempted to justify the story for children, saying that during the event, “a drag queen shows up, very conservatively dressed, looking colourful and exciting, like a cartoon character brought to life – which seems right for kids.”

But Morrison, during the profile, did not say why he targeted children with his performances. The report mentioned that Morrison had received “hateful” messages about the event, suggesting that drag queen story hour was harmful to children. Morrison justified performing in front of children by saying that, as a child, he would have loved to attend a similar event, but noted that they were not available at that time.
