Just like with the closure of schools and forced vaccinations of the Covid era, which resulted in insane learning loss for American kids and the degredation of the US educational system, this new course of action, the recommendation of affirmative name changes, use of cross-sex facilities, drugs, and surgeries is wreaking havoc on the youth of this nation. While this is a problem that afflicts both boys and girls, the impact of child sex changes on girls has become rather stark and dangerous. Yet for the Biden administration, any effort among parents, educators or lawmakers to tell girls that it is okay to be female is anti-trans, and inflicts literal violence on the LGBTQIA+ community.
They even seek to ban conversion therapy, which in practice as regards trans means that they seek to ban parents, educators, doctors, and therapists from telling children that they are okay just as they are, that the idea they are born wrong is a fiction. Biden wants to stop people from telling children they don't need drugs and surgeries to be their true selves, and to instead force parents to allow their children to undergo experimental sex changes.
Girls as young as 13 are having their breasts removed in service to the idea that this mutilation will make them male. They take puberty blockers which stunt their natural growth and development, they are injected with testosterone to deepen their voices, sharpen their jaw lines, and create male pattern growths of body hair. This is all begun when a girl begins to hit puberty, and realizes that growing up female brings with it lots more responsibility, concerns, and fears that she sees occuring to her male adolescent counterparts.
What girl, entering puberty, feeling the changing reaction of society to her developing body, would not prefer to be seen as male? Males are not ogled, groped, suddenly treated differently by peers who one day saw them as equals and the next saw them as sexual beings. Males are, for the most part, taken more seriously. Their wants and goals are encouraged, they are not told they can't dress a certain way lest they put themselves in danger, they are not taught to demure, to be nice. Boys that age don't tend to feel the need to hide their bodies under baggy clothes just from the sheer embarassment of existing.
These are the girls who suddenly realize that being male would be better. These are the girls who think, if only there were a way out of womanhood I would be happier, more fulfilled, able to face life without the debilitating horror of being female. To these girls, Joe Biden says it's alright to cut your breasts off, that cutting your breasts off and taking cross-sex hormones in service to the lie that sex can actually be changed should be celebrated.
To parents, Biden says let doctors mutilate your children; to teachers, mental health professionals and lawmakers, he says that refusing to allow doctors to chop off the breasts of healthy young girls who fear being female is hateful. While the White House trots out talking points that favor the medical harm of young people, making insane assumptions that girls who grow up without breasts, with atrophied uteruses and vaginas, with no ability to experience motherhood, will be happier than those who are left whole.
During Thursday's press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre declared that it was a horror, an absolute travesty, that so many states are moving to affirm children and teens in their natal sex, to refuse to allow them to be subjected to the medical experiments that have been outright banned in so many parts of Europe—Norway, Sweden, Finland, France—and are being reduced and limited in the UK.
It is not hate to let children grow up into adults capable of having fulfilling sexual and reproductive lives. The myth of the trans chilld must be put to bed, and the Biden administration must stop lying to uphold the dangerous fantasy that children can be born in the wrong body and medical science can fix it.
