On the latest episode of Human Events Daily, host Jack Posobiec spoke about High School coach Joseph Kennedy's religious liberty Supreme Court victory and said "There's no such thing as separation of church and state and there never was."

The Left ballyhoo the notion of "separation of church and state" as if it were in the constitution, and Posobiec notes, "That's not in the Constitution and I'm sorry Libs, it's not real."

On June 27 the Supreme Court sent down its decision in the case of Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. The case centered around high school football coach Joseph Kennedy who had been in the habit of praying after each football game in 2015.

Over time Kennedy was joined by parents and players, to the disdain of the school district who told him it was unconstitutional. Kennedy didn't stop praying post-game and was then fired.

"No teacher or coach should lose their job for simply expressing their faith while in public," said Kennedy lawyer Kelly Shackelford.

The Supreme Court agreed in a 6-3 ruling that determined the school district violated the coach's rights to free speech when they prohibited him from praying on the field. Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the majority opinion on the ruling.

"I think it's a great ruling for America that people have faith or no faith, everybody has the same rights and that's what the Constitution is all about," Kennedy said in a clip Posobiec played.

The Bremerton School District believed that by allowing Kennedy to pray they were endorsing his religious beliefs. Gorsuch wrote, "That reasoning was misguided. Both the Free Exercise and Free Speech Clauses of the First Amendment protect expressions like Mr. Kennedy’s."

The ruling drives at the heart of a common Leftist misconception about religion in America. Posobiec said, "The First Amendment is about the establishment of religion. It is saying that the federal government should not pick and choose which church should be the Church of America."

"It does not mean that there has to be separation of church and state. That doesn't exist."

The phrase "separation between Church & State '' originates from Thomas Jefferson's letter to The Danbury Baptists. In it Jefferson assuages the Christians that the State would not insert itself in their religious practices and beliefs; it was about religious practitioners who were worried that the government would interfere in religion, not that religion would interfere in government.

Posobiec directly addressed the left and said "No matter how much you desperately want" a separation of church and state, "It doesn't exist. You can't just make up stuff and put it into the Constitution anymore."

The left had also made up that the constitution affirmed abortion which the Supreme Court corrected when they struck down Roe v Wade earlier in June.
