New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced Thursday that his administration would not rehire unvaccinated city workers.

As previously reported by Human Events News, approximately 1,400 city employees were fired earlier this year for refusing to get vaccinated.

Adams said he doesn’t plan to rehire them.

“We are not reviewing if we are going to bring [them] back,” he said, per Fox News.

He also thanked the over 340,000 employees who did get vaccinated, hailing them for [standing] up and [doing] the right thing.”

Also on Thursday, as reported by Human Events News, Adams lifted the vaccine mandate for city athletes and performers effective immediately.

“By putting our home teams on [an] equal playing field, we increase their chances of winning and that has a real impact on our city,” Adams said.
