Time for a “Fearless Introspection” of Communist Chinese Influence

In instances of addiction, the first step is for the substance abuser to admit they have a problem.  What follows is what a friend of mine with experience in the mental health field termed “fearless introspection” – which is their version of a particularly excruciating personal inventory.  As they described it to me:

“Fearless introspection is about identifying and then unburdening yourself of unprocessed emotional stimuli, whether it is the result of something you did or something done to you.  It requires you to untangle all the lies you tell yourself to get thru the inherent pain of life, and that is an agonizing process.  But the reward is finally being able to see reality.  Then, as the prayer says, through God’s grace you can summon the courage to change the things you can, the ability to accept the things you can’t, and the wisdom to know the difference.  Simply trying to ‘tough it out’ and hope the pain goes away only makes matters – and in cases of substance abuse, the addiction – worse.”

What this friend told me rings true, not merely for individuals, but for a collection of souls known as a nation.

America’s self-anointed elite is addicted to genocidal communist China’s money; and, consequently, beholden to that malevolent government’s influence in order to get their fix.  The Beijing regime has weaponized the greed of our nation’s self-anointed elites, who have rationalized and/or lied away any qualms about their self-destructive behavior and its continuing damage to our American family.

In instances such as this one, where the substance abuser has displayed an obstinance against admitting their addiction, an intervention proves necessary.  For our communist lucre addled elite, it is time for an intervention by the sovereign citizenry through its elected servants.  This intervention, while not being able to immediately cut off “cold turkey” America’s abettors from the communist dealers, must include a fearless introspection of genocidal communist China’s penetration of America’s elitists and the public and private institutions they control.  This will facilitate the ultimate detoxification of America’s elitists and institutions and put them – and our American family’s our nation’s liberty, prosperity, and security – on the long march of recovery.

Regrettably, unlike the Cold War in which a bi-partisan consensus supported the containment and ultimate destruction of the Soviet Union’s evil empire, regarding genocidal communist China, though the American people have forged a consensus to deter and defeat it, our elitists have embraced and abetted this monstrous regime.

The current Democratic majority is wholly unsuited to lead an intervention and fearless introspection.  The new pillars of the now thoroughly corporatized Left’s congressional majority – Wall Street, Big Tech, academia, Hollywood, and the corporate media – are too deeply hooked upon communist China’s money for the Democrats to make even a half-hearted call to attempt, let alone accomplish, such a brutally honest accounting.

The question, then, is whether the Republican Party establishment has the stomach to examine its own addicts.  The politics and the policies align not only at the GOP’s grassroots level, but throughout the majority of the American people.  Yet, the problem has never been the party’s base or the bulk of the American people, regardless of party.  The problem was and remains its establishment, whose view of genocidal communist China amounts to serving as a highly paid escort as a nuclear armed, genocidal communist dictatorship’ jackboots stomp onto the world stage and kick the Pax Americana into the dust bin of history.

Therefore, heading into the 2022 midterms, it is incumbent upon GOP leaders, members, and candidates to issue a clarion call for congressional oversight – be it through the traditional committee process or joint House-Senate committee – to secure a comprehensive accounting of genocidal communist China’s money and influence over and within America’s elites and institutions.

In this, they would already be well ahead in their task, due to the amazing and alarming research by Peter Schweizer in his foundational work, Red Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win.  One suspects Mr. Schweizer would be happy to assist in this fearless introspection.

Along those lines, such an intervention and fearless introspection would also have the benefit of revealing those elitists and/or elected officials who demur from participating.  After all, if being strung out on communist China’s money isn’t a problem, why hide it?

Given the Beijing butchers are engaged in unrestricted warfare against our nation, we have no time to waste in commencing the intervention and fearless introspection that, alone, can provide the brutally honest assessment of how deeply that vile regime has compromised our nation to date.  Only then can we gather the facts and engender the wisdom to change the things we can and must to protect the liberty, prosperity, and security of our American family.

If not, and America’s greedy elitists overdose on communist lucre and influence, there’s not enough Narcan in the world to revive our republic.

As he describes himself:  The product of a misspent youth, the Hon. Thaddeus G. McCotter (M.C., Ret.) is a guitarist, author, occasional radio co-host, and recovering politician.  He is a former U.S. Congressman from Michigan having represented that state’s 11th Congressional district from 2003-2012.
