Trump filed a lawsuit Monday against New York State Attorney General Letitia James, seeking to stop her investigation into his business practices.
The suit, filed in a federal court in upstate New York, argues that James’ inquiry, which has gone on for over two years, violated Trump’s constitutional rights, the New York Times reports.
Trump and his lawyers have long argued that the investigation is politically motivated.
“Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent,” the suit reads.
The lawsuit comes less than two weeks after James suggested she would seek to question Trump under oath early next year.
