The Albany County Sheriff’s Office filed a criminal complaint Thursday against former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, alleging that he forcefully touched a former executive assistant.
According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, investigators filed the misdemeanor charge in Albany City Court and a summons was issued to Cuomo.
The Sheriff’s office has been investigating Cuomo since Brittany Commisso, one of his former assistants, filed a complaint in August, per the Wall Street Journal.
Commisso said Cuomo reached under her shirt and groped her during a 2020 encounter at the Executive Mansion. Cuomo has repeatedly denied the allegation.
