Fundraiser for Lt. Col. Scheller Hits $1.5 Million

The Pipe Hitter Foundation is about to break $1.5 million in fundraising to help Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who was jailed after blasting the military’s leadership during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal in several viral social media posts. 

Thus far, the foundation has raised $1,490,495.01 out of their $2 million goal. 

“The Pipe Hitter Foundation is incredibly proud to assist Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller, a Marine who had the courage to demand accountability from his leadership in the wake of a disastrous exit from Afghanistan that led to the death of 13 of his fellow service members,” a statement on the website reads. “Pipe Hitter Foundation stands with LtCol Stuart Scheller and his family #StandwithStu. Stu is exactly the type of Marine we need at this moment in time - to push back against the national security structure that has a long-demonstrated track record of inefficiencies, corruption, and failure.” 

As previously reported by Human Events News, Scheller posted a video to Facebook following the suicide bombings that killed 11 Marines, one Army Green Beret and one Navy corpsman, along with several Afghani citizens. In the video, Scheller – who wore his service uniform – challenged his chain of command and demanded accountability from senior leaders on the situation in Afghanistan. “I want to say this very strongly,” Scheller said in the video. “I have been fighting for 17 years. I am willing to throw it all away to say to my senior leaders: I demand accountability.” 

Scheller released several more videos until he was eventually told to stop posting to social media in general, which he ignored. 

The foundation is working with the Scheller family to raise money for a transition out of the military for Stu and his family, possible relocation, possible loss of military benefits and retirement, family support for his wife and three children and mounting legal expenses.
