To legally own a gun in the nation’s capital, you have to take a gun safety class from a D.C.-certified instructor. Whether you have owned your guns (in another state) for 20 years or never touched one before (like me), you must take four hours of classroom instruction and one hour at the shooting range before Washington will let you register your gun.


There is a ‘war on coal’

Video: After Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown vehemently denied there was a “war on coal” being waged by the Obama administration, Checks and Balances for Economic Growth decided to set the record straight.

Seen here first, this ad, produced by the advocacy group Checks and Balances for Economic Growth, was funded with what a spokesperson called “a significant statewide buy in Ohio.” The ad calls out incumbent Ohio Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown for his claim that there was no “War on Coal.” Brown made this statement during an Oct. 15 debate with his GOP challenger Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel.
