Mere days after his vice president called Republicans terrorists, the hapless Barack Obama today put on his standup comedian hat and made a plea to the GOP to work with him to help create jobs. Didn't his flunkie Jay Carney just say it wasn't the role of the White House to create jobs?

After tanking the stock market and having our credit rating downgraded Friday night, all of a sudden the failed president is reaching out to Republicans. If any of them take him up on this they should really consider psychiatirc evaluation.

Creating jobs in the faltering U.S. economy will require compromise and bipartisanship in Washington, President Obama said in his weekly address.

"We need Democrats and Republicans to work together to help grow this economy," Obama said Saturday. "We’ve got to put politics aside to get some things done.  That’s what the American people expect of us."

Even more hilarious, he's now calling to extend tax cuts.

To spur job growth, Obama called on Congress to extend tax cuts for "working and middle class families," as well as extending unemployment benefits.

Gee, no more demonizing "the rich" and those evil corporate jet owners?

Funny, but back in 2009 I recall the GOP extending a hand in a bipartisan effort, only to have this arrogant elistist declaring "I won."

Good times, good times.

The top congressional leaders from both parties gathered at the White House for a working discussion over the shape and size of President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan. The meeting was designed to promote bipartisanship.

But Obama showed that in an ideological debate, he’s not averse to using a jab.

Challenged by one Republican senator over the contents of the package, the new president, according to participants, replied: “I won.”

Now 31 months later with his approval ratings in the tank and facing an uphill struggle to be re-elected, all of a sudden he's embracing bipartisanship.

So why would Obama all of a sudden want to work with those evil hostage-takers? Weren't those meanies holding a gun to the head of the economy? Why the sudden urge to deal with those folks holding America hostage?

Probably so he can share the blame when his latest efforts fail.

Obama clearly has no clue that America's investor class has zero faith in him and the economy will continue in its current abysmal state until he's out of office.

We can only hope that day comes in 17 months.
