Standing for Freedom Against Pelosi

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s recent threat to “investigate those opposing the mosque” at Ground Zero is indicative of how sick our once-free society has become. Clearly her remarks were directed at those of us who are leading the opposition to the gross offense and humiliation of the Ground Zero Islamic supremacist mosque.

But more than that, it is a direct threat to the 70% of Americans vehemently opposed to the mosque.

While Pelosi is calling for an investigation of mosque foes, your taxpayer dollars are funding the Ground Zero Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s Mideast mega-mosque fund-raising tour.

Only when her office sent over a statement clarifying her remarks did Pelosi say anything about investigating where the funding was coming from for this giant mosque at Ground Zero, despite the fact that Rauf told the American press that he was only getting funding from American sources, and then told the Arabic press that he was getting money from Muslim countries all over the world.

That dishonesty never bothered Pelosi until after she started getting criticism for calling for an investigation of mosque foes. Then she said in her statement: “I support the statement made by the Interfaith Alliance that ‘We agree with the ADL that there is a need for transparency about who is funding the effort to build this Islamic center.’”

But she added: “At the same time, we should also ask who is funding the attacks against the construction of the center.”

The Left, dismissive of the grief and the offense to 9/11 families and the majority of Americans that this Ground Zero mosque provokes, is sick in its fierce pursuit to erect the victory mosque.

They have even tried to blame me for the natural and logical response to the prospect of an Islamic supremacist mosque being built on the site of a building that was part of the attack on 9/11.

Rich Lowry said in the New York Post: “A blogger named Pamela Geller was on the case early. Pelosi might not have heard, but in early 21st Century America, it’s possible to set up blogs without corporate backing or dead drops of cash from shadowy sources.”

It hasn’t been just Pelosi. The Geller hit pieces have been fast and furious and obvious, as if removing any legitimacy from my imprimatur on the protests will defuse the pain and anger that people feel over this mega-mosque.

Never gonna happen. Here again, the contempt that the Left (both politicians and media) show for the American people is palpable. Their subjective presentation of the news is now completely divorced from reality.

This is the change that America signed on to when Barack Obama was elected President of the United States? Unemployment at historic levels, taxation without representation at post-revolutionary historic highs, a failing economy, nationalization of healthcare, impending nationalization of energy, abandonment of America’s founding principle—individual rights—and now this. Are dissenting voices now to fall silent for fear of harassment and oppression by statists, collectivists and Islamic supremacists?

We have sunk so far so fast, it is breathtaking.

What is interesting in all this is how irrelevant the mainstream media is rendering itself. People are really not listening to them as they shill for enemies and destroyers.

I strongly recommend that Americans who oppose thug politicians like Nancy Pelosi and the neo-Stalinism that they’re trying to impose on America join us at our rally against the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero on September 11 at 3 p.m. Dutch freedom fighter Geert Wilders will be there. Former UN Ambassador John Bolton and journalist Andrew Breitbart will be contributing statements.

Members of 9/11 families will be speaking, along with war hero and North Carolina congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; popular New York radio host Steve Malzberg; Gary Berntsen, a candidate for the U.S. Senate from New York; Jordan Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, which has filed suit to stop the Ground Zero mega-mosque; and Michael Grimm, a candidate for Congress from New York’s 13th District and a 9/11 first responder. I’ll be hosting the rally with my colleague Robert Spencer.

Everyone who is anyone in American life will be there. That means you.
