The House vote on President Obama’s health care bill could come as early as this week. As time runs out before the Easter congressional recess, Obama personally and the House Democratic leadership are exerting tremendous pressure to gain the votes of party members who voted against the original House bill, and those who voted for it but may change their vote because of the many objectionable provisions in the Senate bill.
Speaker Pelosi is also maneuvering to bundle the Senate bill with a House “rule” - a motion that allows a bill to come to the floor - so that if the rule is passed, the Senate bill will be “deemed” to have been passed with it.
39 Democrats voted against H.R. 3962, the “Affordable Health Care for America Act,” in November. Senate Republican Whip John Kyl and House Republican Whip Eric Cantor also provided a list of 21 congressmen who originally voted for the House bill, “but may now be on the fence” about the current health care vote.
The following 36 congressmen originally voted “No” for the House bill in November. Call the congressmen and tell them that you, as a taxpaying American citizen, in no way support the current health care legislation.
Tell them, too, that if they vote for the “rule” they are voting for the Senate bill with all its bribes, corruption and nationalization of healthcare. And tell them you’ll remember in November.
