While Republican political consultants were voicing their fear that the President's immigration reform plan will hurt Republican congressional candidates in the fall (see cover story), House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R.-Mo.) expressed a much rosier view. "Members of Congress tend to stay close to home and are more reflective of the congressional districts than they are of national policy," Blunt told Human Events Political Editor John Gizzi, predicting that voters in November will "disprove the [Republican] strategists’ theory."
