The Illiterate Generation

A study released by National Geographic found that Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 are geographically illiterate.

  • One-third of respondents couldn’t locate Louisiana on a map
  • Six in 10 could not find Iraq
  • 75% were unable to pinpoint Israel, and what’s probably the funniest—or more saddening—statistic,
  • Thirty percent thought the most heavily fortified border in the world was between the United States and Mexico

Perhaps higher education should stop worrying about discriminatory toilets.
