After several retired generals publicly called for the removal of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his decisions in the Iraq war, it was only a matter of time before Hillary joined in.

Sure enough, she recently wrote to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner requesting that the committee hear from "these retired generals, as well as retired generals with differing views and administration officials," because such a hearing "can help ensure we learn from past experiences and better shape future operations."

Sen. Warner has agreed to have the committee vote on whether to have such a hearing, although he wouldn't say when such a vote would take place. As a member of the committee and a Democrat who says she supports the war, Hillary must be relishing the chance to bash Rumsfeld and help perpetuate the idea that the Bush administration has mismanaged the war, which might also help her get back in the good graces of the Angry Left.
