House Majority Leader Roy Blunt (R.-Mo.) told HUMAN EVENTS Political Editor John Gizzi he had ??¢â???¬?????talked twice to the White House??¢â???¬  about putting together a package of rescissions from previously appropriated spending. Blunt said he told the White House ??¢â???¬?????there must be some balance between what you want to do and we want to do.??¢â???¬  The majority leader said he anticipated a list of rescissions to come from the White House by Thanksgiving.

At a subsequent White House briefing, Gizzi shared Blunt??¢â???¬â???¢s comments with White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan and asked if the list of rescissions would be sent to Congress. ??¢â???¬?????We continue to discuss a lot of ways to cut spending and save money,??¢â???¬  said McClellan, confirming that Blunt had met with the President earlier in the week and that they had a ??¢â???¬?????good discussion??¢â???¬  about ways to cut spending.
