United Airlines will allow unvaccinated employees return to their jobs starting March 28th

The airline, one of the first major employers to mandate vaccines for its employees, wrote in a memo that about 2,220 of its employees have met vaccine-related reasonable accommodations to return to work, per The Hill.

“We plan to welcome back those employees who have been out on an approved (accommodation) to their normal positions starting March 28,” the memo reads.

The airline cited the recent decline in virus cases, using CDC mask guidelines as an example.

“These changes suggest that the pandemic is beginning to meaningfully recede,” the memo continued. “As a result, we’re confident we can safely begin the process of returning employees with accommodations to their jobs.”

The memo added that if another variant emerges or numbers begin to spike, the company will reevaluate its decision.
