KENNY CODY: Celebrate July 4th to save America

Our Constitution, our borders, and our people are what make the United States of America the greatest place to live on Earth.

A nation's identity is not soley defined by an idea, one singular moment, or the way some indoctrination agent at a liberal arts college chooses to demonize it. The American identity is left up to the people and the culture created around them, and to the exclusion of outside ideologies or intruders that seek to destroy it or redefine what it was founded upon.

This July Fourth, perhaps more than any other time in modern-day American history, these facts have to be shouted from the rooftops of every city, small town, street, and back road in our great nation. Whether it is construction workers raising the stars and stripes at a site on duty, Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" blasting on a JBL speaker, or honoring veterans and the U.S.A.'s colors during a county-wide parade, we are in for a weekend showing the nationalist pride we have in our great country.

Our Constitution, our borders, and our people are what make the United States of America the greatest place to live on Earth. It does not take brute force to move the Christian conservative wing of this nation to celebrate July Fourth. To us, it comes naturally. The beauty of our country, whether it be the people themselves, the landscapes, our accomplishments, or our culture, is what drives citizens who are actually proud to be Americans to celebrate loudly, and deservedly so.

Our Declaration of Independence signifies a phrase we should not just forget: "We the People." No, not "We the Idea" or "We, the inclusion of all other nations," but "We the People" of the United States of America. Our early leaders signified that our country was built on the belief that we put America and her interests first, which means putting Americans themselves first above all.

Westward expansion, American dominance in claiming territories, the break from Great Britain during the Revolution, and the Industrial Revolution proved America to be the best of the best. We rejected and defeated communism at multiple junctures throughout our history. Our leaders ran global trade, held post-war economic dominance after nearly every conflict, and created an identity of American ingenuity that has proven unmatched in the dawn of modern roles being sewn across the globe.

Now, to defeat the Marxists, communists, and progressive evil that is trying to inject its anti-American poison into our nation's bloodstream, we have to stand up proudly to prevent a cultural transmission and instead create and define our national story. That story has many different chapters, be it our men fighting in wars, going to the moon, our unity after 9/11, or our innovation in medicine and industry, all of which were made possible by our people believing that America is worth striving for.

A healthy dose of nationalism means love of one's own people. Rootless existence as a country is not enough to keep America great. Diluted sovereignty has led to more death, cultural fragmentation, and human suffering than any other cause that a nation can blame itself for. American exceptionalism is the only path forward for our nation's continued greatness.

The modern American left believes that pride in our nation's identity is embarrassing, not worth celebrating, and stains themselves if any sense of butterflies enter their stomach as they watch fireworks. That has been proven in polls, and they legitimately want nothing to do with July Fourth if given the choice. American pride is not optional. It is the fuel that sustains our constitutional republic, and any resistance to that idea should be ousted like the illegal migrants who refuse to assimilate.

This weekend, celebrate the greatest nation God ever put breath in, the United States of America, with your family, friends, and fellow countrymen. It is not a request, but a command for any proud member of our nation. Our identity as Americans depends on our willingness to celebrate our greatness. So go forth, and God bless.
