Many don’t know that prior to his career as a cartoonist, Scott Adams worked in various roles in corporate America. His ability to draw cartoons began as a hobby that he eventually decided to pursue as a career. He submitted his cartoons into several publications, but none gained traction until 1989, when Dilbert was launched with United Media.

Soon after, Adams was able to become a full-time cartoonist and dedicate himself entirely to what had once been just a side passion. Dilbert quickly became syndicated in newspapers nationwide, and Scott officially left corporate work behind. He went on to become a bestselling author and later served as an executive producer of his own Dilbert television series.

Despite these impressive career accomplishments, Scott Adams is now most notably known for being an unapologetic patriot.

Adams threw all caution to the wind when he began writing blog posts predicting that Donald Trump would win his first presidential term. As the popularity of those posts grew, he launched his daily video broadcast, Real Coffee with Scott Adams.

He brought logic, thorough analysis, and open praise to much of Trump’s presidency. Despite the backlash he knew he would face from an industry that made it abundantly clear that anyone who spoke favorably about Trump would be attacked, Adams pressed on.

Adams was particularly impressed by Trump’s knack for persuasion. He spoke about it often and noted many times that, if nothing else, it would be Trump’s gift of persuasion that ultimately helped him win.

What many people appreciate most about Adams, however, is his down-to-earth approach to life. He doesn’t speak from above on a pedestal to a peasant audience. He speaks among people as equals, openly sharing the daily struggles that come with being human in this world.

His common-sense thinking and practical approach to life resonate with many. His daily engagement with subscribers on Locals creates a sense of familiarity and community when he speaks into the camera. Some of the most meaningful moments come from his simple acknowledgment that being a MAGA supporter was not always easy – and that he knows this firsthand.

Adams likely appreciates Trump’s gift for persuasion because he possesses that skill himself. He is able to articulate clearly why the MAGA movement is powerful and why Trump’s decisions resonate with so many Americans. He spent years explaining what worked, what didn’t, and how to view issues from a broader perspective than what most people were conditioned to accept. And when issues are examined through evidence and common sense, the conclusions tend to lean right.

Sadly, in May of this year, Adams shared with his Coffee with Scott Adams viewers that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and that it had spread aggressively to his bones. It was a gut punch to many of his supporters as we watched, in real time, his rapid physical decline.

The pain became overwhelming, and the exhaustion was profound. Adams openly admitted that he had reached a point where he was ready to end his life. In California, physician-assisted death is legal, and he had even set a date. But instead, in a moment of profound bravery, he made the decision to try a new treatment that blocks the production of testosterone. The treatment began working. His pain subsided, and it gave him renewed hope. We were given more time with him.

For a while, Adams showed visible signs of improvement and was able to continue his daily video blogs. Until he wasn’t.

We are now witnessing his rapid decline in real time, and many public figures – including Vice President J.D. Vance – have taken to X to pray for his recovery.

Adams has become everyone’s internet dad. He has provided countless people with the tools to think clearly, objectively, and independently. He taught people how to resist media manipulation and government narratives designed to deceive, and how to navigate a world that can often be cruel and dishonest.

Adams is currently hospitalized in Northern California, fighting for his life. When his health allows, he continues to share updates and encouragement from his hospital bed. Support for this great American patriot has poured in from across the country, and many are praying and believing that God is listening.
