DAVID KRAYDEN: Journalists don't get Americans because they don’t live like them

Raddatz can report in blissful isolation of an old media that really believes there is nothing wrong with America, just serious problems with a lot of ignorant and racist Americans.

America has become a strange land, where pro-life activists are sentenced to three-and-a-half years of prison and illegal immigrants have the run of the country, committing crimes without even being subject to deportation. Bevelyn Williams began serving that sentence Wednesday. If you read her charge sheet, she’s going to prison for “unlawful assembly,” or for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act). She was charged with participating in a pro-life protest at a New York City Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in June 2020.

Doesn’t the Constitution of the United States guarantee freedom of assembly? I thought so. Apparently not anymore. At least not if you’re an opponent of the Biden-Harris administration, which is only apparently running on one issue in this election: more access to abortion. I had to laugh when former president Bill Clinton was caught this week casually dismissing that administration’s immigration policy when he actually observed that Laken Riley, the murdered Georgia nursing student whose suspected killer is an illegal immigrant, would probably be alive if at least some of the tens of millions of illegals entering America under President Joe Biden had been “properly vetted.” Clinton went on to say that the only reason the US is bringing so many immigrants into the country is because Americans aren’t “having babies.” One of the reasons for this is that America has become a country that promotes abortion, not as a last resort but as easy birth control and a “reproductive health” issue that is no different from having an appendix removed.

The mainstream media did not report on Williams’ incarceration. It has no problem with pro-life women being thrown into prison for years and thinks you’re racist if you don’t think illegals from Venezuela should be allowed to set up new chapters of their Tren de Aragua criminal organization as soon as they set foot in America. And it’s just not a problem when they do. If you haven’t seen the interview with Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and ABC News host Martha Raddatz as the two discuss what the lefty journalist describes as a “handful of problems" in Aurora, CO, please do. It is emblematic of the caustic distance that exists between America’s media elite and average citizens whom these denizens of yesterday’s journalism can never understand because they will never know them.

Raddatz and Vance were discussing how Venezuelan gangsters with the crime syndicate Tren de Aragua had infiltrated the city of Aurora, a suburb of Denver, and literally appropriated a number of apartment complexes so that they could terrorize the occupants and extort money from them. That wasn’t shocking enough for Raddatz who interrupted Vance. "I’m going to stop you because I know exactly what happened," Raddatz told Vance. "I’m going to stop you. ‘The incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes’ and the mayor said, ‘Our dedicated police officers have acted on those concerns.’ A handful of problems."

Vance responded, "Martha, do you hear yourself? Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem and not Kamala Harris’ open border?"

Yes, she heard herself. This isn’t a problem because it doesn’t happen in her neighborhood. And where is that, you might ask? Well, Raddatz and her husband, National Public Radio journalist Tom Gjelton, live in a tony section of Arlington with multi-million dollar homes, manicured lawns and low crime. The illegals in town are the ones doing the domestic chores and are expected to be seen and not heard. Journalist Glenn Greenwald recently spoke about her home, which was featured in a May 2017 article of realtor.com that gushed over how Raddatz and Gjelton had just spent “$2.125 million for a vintage home on a coveted block in Arlington, VA. The four bedroom, four bath home sits on a beautiful half acre lot that is about 15 minutes, minus rush hour traffic, from downtown Washington, DC. The house was built in 1900, when wealthy Washingtonians kept weekend getaways in Arlington, The previous owners, who bought the house in 2006 for 1.16 million, renovated the home and nearly doubled its size to 5400 square feet.”

Do you think Raddatz can understand people who are living in cramped apartment houses, where gangsters armed with assault rifles extort your rent money and terrorize your family? Do you really think Raddatz thinks of illegal immigrants as anything but the help you can hire for low wages? How long has it been since you even had to deal with real people who don’t live in mansions and can’t drive to work in luxury cars?

But, there is a certain political harmony that accompanies newswomen like Raddatz because, as they are becoming increasingly irrelevant as journalists who are increasingly ignored in a media world that is dominated by new media and social media, they are becoming increasingly detached from the world and the nation that they are supposed to be documenting as journalists. Tren de Aragua is not hanging out on Raddatz’s doorstep and illegals are not trying to take her job at ABC. She can report in blissful isolation of an old media that really believes there is nothing wrong with America, just serious problems with a lot of ignorant and racist Americans who blame their own inadequacies on immigrants. Forget the crime. Don’t think about the fact that America has no southern border and hasn’t had one now for almost four years. Refuse to ponder why illegals are flown from the border to communities across the nation, where they receive free accommodation, health care and education that American citizens are not even eligible for: could any government provide a better reason for resentment and anger, as it abuses its own population, so it can bolster its own chances of reelection by purchasing the votes of illegal immigrants?

That’s why the mainstream media is reluctant or refusing to report the real numbers of illegal immigrants, that the Biden-Harris regime has allowed to trot into America unmolested so that they can proceed to molest Americans. They aren’t seeing these illegals anywhere and their left-wing ideology tells them that people who are complaining about Venezuelan gangsters are just nasty racists who are uncaring about refugees. The same mindset exists for the idiocy of Springfield, OH where tens of thousands of Haitian migrants have been dumped into a town and given special privileges that the citizens don’t enjoy. The immigration status of most of these people is at best questionable. They are not learning English and won’t learn how to drive properly. And yes, some Haitians do eat dogs and cats. They come from a country that has long been assessed as a failed economy, where the state is intrinsically corrupt and the unofficial religion is Voodoo.

Former President Donald Trump recently mused about all the murderers that Biden has loosed upon the nation through his open borders policy and wondered if homicide was in their genes. A Democratic strategist was quick to call that observation eugenics and proclaim – again – that Trump was just like Adolf Hiter. Don’t be outraged that at least 13,000 killers have entered the country illegally, just get mad at Trump for pointing that out.

I was struck by an article I wrote for The Post Millennial this week about how prepubescent members of Tren de Aragua are pulling off robberies in New York City’s Time Square. Do you remember a bygone era when people came to America for freedom and prosperity? And not the kind of prosperity stolen with the barrel of a gun? These latest gangs of New York are 11-year-old kids who should be discovering the New York Yankees and hoping outfielder Aaron Judge hits another home run in the American League Championship Series. But they are not grateful to be in America, to have political freedom that they never knew, to have the opportunity to get an education and eventually find a good job and career. They are living in a migrant shelter in what used to be the Roosevelt Hotel and watching New York City fall apart at the seams, looking increasingly like that graffiti-ridden, garbage-laden, crime infested city of the 1970s that had become a national embarrassment.

The old joke from that era, as Americans reeled from stagflation and long lineups at the gas station and longed for a leader like Ronald Reagan to establish genuine priorities, is that a conservative was a liberal who had just been mugged. Today a conservative, or a MAGA supporter, or a Trump voter is a Biden-Harris apologist who was just dispossessed or overrun by illegal immigration and suddenly understands that Biden and Harris don’t give a damn about your circumstances, your life or your future. It’s all about their political power.
