“If you believe in the value of God's created life of humanity, then you need to hear this story,” Posobiec told the audience. “You need to hear the story of a 25-year-old girl named Noelia Ramos.”
Posobiec said that “Noelia Ramos was just murdered moments ago by the state government of Spain in an assisted suicide euthanasia that she opted for,” adding that her decision came after a series of traumatic events. “Because four years ago, when she was placed in a state care facility, she was raped by North African migrants.”
Ramos, from Barcelona, had been left paraplegic following a 2022 suicide attempt in which she jumped from a fifth-floor height. Medical assessments later determined her condition was severe and irreversible, placing her disability at 74 percent and citing permanent spinal cord damage, chronic neuropathic pain, and loss of bodily control.
According to Spain’s euthanasia law, enacted in 2021, her case went through multiple levels of review involving doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Officials concluded she met the legal criteria, including sustained suffering and the capacity to make an informed decision.
“I don't have the strength to endure this pain and all that torments me after everything I've been through,” she said.
Posobiec continued by questioning the role of the state in her case. “And then, after having turned to the government, after having turned to the state, to authorities for help, what did they offer her? They offered her suicide. They offered her a quick death.”
The process had faced opposition from Ramos’ father, who filed appeals through multiple courts, arguing that her condition was psychological and treatable. Those challenges were ultimately rejected, clearing the way for the procedure.
“We are told at Human Events that just moments ago, in a hospital in Spain, Noelia Ramos was killed by the Spanish government,” Posobiec said. “Her friends, her family, we're told, were not even allowed in to talk with her because they wanted to try to get her to change her decision.”
Following his remarks, Posobiec turned to Emmons and asked the audience to join in prayer. “Would you guys join me? We're going to do a Hail Mary and an Our Father.”
