An explosion outside an office entrance near the World Trade Center in Amsterdam is under investigation after a newly formed Islamic terror group claimed responsibility. Authorities say the blast happened Sunday on Strawinskylaan, an area that includes the Atrium office complex. This comes after the group has also claimed responsibility for an attack at synagogue in Belgium and a blast at a Jewish school in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam Police confirmed the explosion occurred at the entrance to an office building connected to the WTC area, reports the Jerusalem Post. Security personnel quickly put out a small fire caused by the blast. No injuries were reported, though the incident remains under active investigation.

"We are investigating this explosion," the spokesperson said. "The fire was immediately extinguished by security. We are reviewing footage and are calling on witnesses to contact the police."

The group Ashab Al Yamin released a video shortly after the incident claiming it had carried out the attack using an improvised explosive device. In the footage, an unidentified individual appears to light an explosive device before running away. Seconds later, the device detonates near the building entrance.

The video claims the target was the Bank of New York Mellon located in the Atrium office complex next to the WTC. Police have not confirmed the exact target. Authorities also acknowledged the video circulating online and said it is part of the ongoing investigation.

The clip includes a logo featuring an upstretched arm holding an SVD rifle pointing to the right, set against a red flag with olive branches. Text in the video includes the phrase "jihad, steadfastness, victory."

The group also issued a warning message in the video. "In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is the Final Warning. To all the people of the world, especially in the European Union, immediately distance yourselves from all American and Zionist interests, facilities, and what is affiliated with them," the group said.

Ashab Al Yamin has appeared publicly only in recent days but has already claimed multiple attacks across the region. Those include an explosion at a synagogue in Liege, Belgium, a blast at a Jewish school in Amsterdam, and another attack targeting a synagogue in Rotterdam.

The group is believed to have connections to the so-called Iraqi resistance network. Videos linked to the organization have circulated widely on Telegram channels associated with groups aligned with Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps

Amsterdam officials also confirmed an explosion early Saturday damaged a Jewish school in a residential neighborhood in the southern part of the city. Mayor Femke Halsema described that incident as “a deliberate attack against the Jewish community.” Police said surveillance footage captured a suspect placing an explosive device.

Security around Jewish institutions in the Dutch capital had already been increased after an overnight arson attack at a synagogue in Rotterdam on Friday.

Police later detained three men aged 18 and 19, along with a 17-year-old boy, after stopping a vehicle near another synagogue.
