Some were yelling at Macron by name in French, as others also ran after the cars. Then, in the video recording, one person can be heard shouting "Allahu Akbar" in the city of Trappes. Macron said that the shooting was motivated by a "terrorist and racist" attack.
Left-wing riots and protests have erupted across Europe over the last few weeks in France and Italy. Across France, there have been nearly 1,000 arrests just on Saturday, according to the interior minister. Around 70,000 officers were positioned across the country over the weekend, with 110,000 of them in Paris alone, per CNN.
Some have claimed that the riots and protests are just about schoolchildren wanting to get more funding. However, only about 16 of the 54 left-wing groups are connected to the youth at all.
Many of the 54 groups are communist, socialist, revolutionary organizations, propaganda outlets, and others. Of those that have been arrested, 95 percent of them are men, and 70 percent of them have been adults, per the French Justice Minister.
