Emergency crews were called to Park Street just before 10 p.m. on November 5 after reports of a young woman with serious injuries. Despite attempts to save her, Whitehouse was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police confirmed that Mohammed Azim, who was known to the victim, has been charged in connection with her death. Azim appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court and was remanded into custody ahead of a plea hearing scheduled for December 16.
In a statement, police said: “Lily Whitehouse, aged 19, was found with serious injuries in Park Street at around 9.50pm. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
Tributes have poured in from friends and neighbors following the teenager’s death. One message left at the scene read, “R.I.P Lily Whitehouse, God bless you baby girl.” Another mourner added, “Such a beautiful soul taken away too soon. You will be missed by all.”
Floral tributes and teddy bears have been placed near the site where Whitehouse was found, as the community continues to grieve her loss.
Whitehouse’s friends described her as “a beautiful girl” and said they were “absolutely shocked.”
