JACK POSOBIEC: 'The point is to hurt people and break stuff'—we don't need trans in the military

"This is not for social engineering. We need social cohesion, we need troop morale. We don’t need that.”

Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec discussed the new Trump administration’s common-sense approach to gender, including recent moves to ban transgender people from serving in the military.

The segment comes after newly confirmed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Monday that he would work to execute any orders passed by President Trump banning trans servicemen and women.

Hegseth also said he would bar the use of “invented and identification-based pronouns” and stop biological males and females from using sleeping quarters and bathrooms “intended for the opposite sex.”

The president revoked Biden’s order repealing his ban on transgender Americans in the military last Monday, with the new executive orders taking it a step further. A fact sheet by the Trump administration also states that there will be “no accommodation for anything less than resilience, strength, and the ability to withstand extraordinary physical demands. Individuals who are unable to meet these requirements are unable to serve in the military. This has been the case for decades,” the document says.

On this, Posobiec lauded Hegseth for calling military bases by their proper names, “Fort Benning, Fort Bragg.” Rather than the woke name Fort Liberty, chosen to erase association with the original namesake of the fort, Confederate General Braxton Bragg.

“Every moment that I’m here, I’m thinking about the guys and gals in Guam, in Germany, Fort Benning, and Fort Bragg, on missile defense sites and aircraft carriers,” Hegseth told reporters on Monday.

“What is the point of transgender individuals in the military?” Posobiec asked. “The point of the military is to hurt people and break stuff. That is not what is served by having transgender individuals there. This is not for social experiments. This is not for social engineering. We need social cohesion, we need troop morale. We don’t need that.”

Posobiec also pointed out that there are many reasons that a person could be banned from the military: “Ask anybody who’s trying to join. Go to your local MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Stations) office and find out the different categories that you can be in to not be eligible for military service. Criminal records, bad credit, having asthma, bad vision, all sorts of things under the sun. So why should we allow people in that we know have at the bare minimum massive surgical needs, massive hormonal needs… It’s done.”
