Kevin Posobiec, reporting from Minnesota, described a violent standoff at a hotel in St. Paul after Antifa agitators claimed ICE agents were staying there.
“We got early reports that Antifa cells came and said there were two ICE agents staying at this hotel in St. Paul,” Posobiec said. “They upped it a level" from last week "and broke through into the lobby, started trashing refrigerators, breaking windows, spray painting F-ICE all over the windows, and beating the trash cans. It was like a mob from the beginning.”
Posobiec said corrections officers initially responded, which escalated the situation. At one point, an agent emerged with what he believed was a shotgun and cleared the lobby, but was then struck by an object thrown by the crowd. “Someone threw either an empty tear gas canister or a block of ice, something jagged enough to slice his fingers open,” he said, which also escalated the situation. According to Posobiec, Minneapolis police did not arrive for roughly two hours, despite the hotel being only minutes from downtown precincts.
“When they finally arrived, they had EMS trucks, about a dozen squad cars, and I believe state troopers as well, a riot squad,” he said. “But this is getting out of control. These people are organized. There was black bloc Antifa there.”
Quincy Franklin, better known by his online name Black Conservative Preacher, also reporting from the area, said the level of organization in Minneapolis exceeds what he has seen covering unrest in Portland. “Being here in Minneapolis versus Portland, Portland looks like a cakewalk compared to what I’m seeing here,” he said. He described being followed by organized surveillance teams operating openly across large sections of the city.
“We were being followed, tailed, stopped. I’m talking about ten cars following us, tracking us,” he said. “They’re telling us we’re ICE because we’re wearing masks. If you step out of the car, they start blowing the whistle.”
The preacher said these whistle alerts are part of a coordinated signaling system that triggers rapid mass mobilization. “Once you’re a spotter, you start communicating so other people get to the area within 90 seconds,” he said. “These people really show up quick, and I'm talking about by the masses and by the numbers. They're blowing their whistles, they start honking their car horns, and getting the neighbors and the community's attention to respond because ICE agents are there to do their job.”
Host Jack Posobiec described the activity as criminal rather than protest-related. “This is a criminal conspiracy to impede operations of law enforcement,” he said. “This is not holding a sign or chanting.”
Franklin agreed, saying agitators are actively obstructing justice. “They are taking active steps in furtherance of the conspiracy,” he said.
Kevin Posobiec warned that innocent bystanders are being caught in the chaos. “There are innocent people in hotel lobbies actually scared,” he said. “People came up to us asking what happened, totally oblivious.”
Franklin said he and Posobiec were confronted by agitators demanding identification and proof of residency. “They asked us for our credentials, our IDs, to prove whether we live in Minneapolis,” Franklin said. “They don’t even want 'illegals' in their own area because we are outsiders, right? Imagine that.”
Jack Posobiec said the situation amounts to agitators seizing operational control of the streets and questioned the response from authorities. Kevin Posobiec said the National Guard was present but ineffective. “The National Guard’s here, but they’re busy handing out doughnuts,” he said.
Franklin concluded that Antifa tactics have evolved significantly since earlier unrest. “This level of organization doesn’t compare to what I saw in Portland,” he said. “They’ve evolved.”
