"McGregor, from the White House briefing room on St. Patrick’s Day itself. Your homeland is being overrun. So many Irish Americans, and there’s people around the world that think of Ireland as this wonderful place they can go and enjoy the lush landscape and see the Emerald Isle, and you have Conor McGregor now within the White House issuing this warning: ‘Irish Americans, look to your homeland, look to what’s going on,’” Posobiec said Monday.
He also criticized President Joe Biden, who claims Irish ancestry, for failing to address the issue. “Joe Biden, supposedly an Irish American, he was all for it. The Irish PM was here last week, he didn’t say anything about it at all. Conor McGregor, a guy who just stands up for his people and a guy who is beloved by the Irish nation, is saying the Irish nation is in dire need of assistance. You are being overrun by migrants, there are now small towns, rural towns in Ireland, those picturesque beautiful towns that the Irish people have fought so hard for, for hundreds of years to maintain as free and independent towns, and they are now being overrun by migrants from the third world, to make the native Irish people minorities in their own homeland.”
McGregor’s visit to the White House was widely anticipated, but Posobiec noted that instead of a publicity stunt, McGregor used the opportunity to highlight a serious issue affecting his country. “Possibly the most beloved son of Ireland” in the form of Conor McGregor, Posobiec said.
“He’s come to the White House and people thought that this was going to be him walking around and swinging his arms, doing the whole bit. But he’s come here on a serious note and this is serious business. We talked about it last week, but here you have Conor McGregor himself, delving into politics on a very serious issue, that the Irish people, the people who are themselves the indigenous natives of the Emerald Isle, are being completely overrun by migration, and in fact, there are towns and rural areas of Ireland where the Irish population is now becoming the minority.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt introduced McGregor and confirmed that he would be meeting with the president and other administration officials.
McGregor stated that he was in Washington “to raise the issues the people of Ireland face.” He criticized the Irish government, saying it has “abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland” and called for the United States to take notice of what he described as a “travesty” happening in Ireland.
McGregor also spoke out about Ireland’s immigration policies and the government's stance on asylum seekers, stating that “the illegal immigration racket is ravaging the country.”
Leavitt praised McGregor’s presence at the White House on St. Patrick’s Day, stating, “We couldn't think of a better guest to have with us.”
Last week, Posobiec questioned the logic behind Ireland’s obligation to accept tens of thousands of migrants, despite having no colonial past akin to that of the United Kingdom or France. “What did Ireland ever colonize? The Irish people are the indigenous people of Ireland. It’s as simple as that. Here’s a pretty common phrase that I think we can repurpose: Make Ireland Irish Again. Give Ireland back to the Irish. I wasn’t planning on doing an Ireland monologue today, but here we are.”
