In a time of urgent need, with leftists advocating to dismiss prayer for victims of violence, like the ones we witnessed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in a Christian hate crime against children, America needs to embrace the religious liberty that our founding fathers encouraged us to prioritize. Luckily, our great nation is led by a President who is doing precisely that in protecting the Christian ethics upon which our country was founded. At his September 8th speech at the Museum of the Bible, not only did President Donald Trump exemplify the needed voice that America desires in reverting to its true identity as protecting religious freedom and liberty, but he also embraced the idea that America was built on the foundation of the Christian worldview and restoring its congruence with "One Nation, Under God."

As the United States of America's 250th birthday celebration approaches, President Trump has asked the entire nation to join in prayer in unity and wants to rededicate his Administration's commitment to preserving America as a Christian nation. Trump stated, "When faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker. When faith gets stronger, good things happen in our country. Under the Trump Administration, we're defending our rights and restoring our identity as "One Nation, Under God." Along with this proclamation of national renewal with the Christian principles of the country, Trump made an example out of godless politicians, such as Senator Tim Kaine, and their reluctance to attribute our rights to God rather than the government. President Trump seemingly called for a Christian, spiritual unity under Christ after the attacks on the faith the nation had witnessed from leftists like Kaine, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and the killer at Annunciation Catholic School two weeks ago. Not only was Trump clear in where he stood in the war against the Christian faith, but he also discussed the action his Administration planned to take to combat anti-Christian bigotry.

During his speech, the acknowledgement of evil that is currently occurring in America against people of faith was palpable. Whether it be the violent killing of Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte by an armed criminal, or the massacre in Minnesota against Christian children, any listener or viewer of the speech could tell Trump was shaken to his core about the pure malcontent of America's most evil individuals, who were taking violent action against his citizens. While President Trump sounded empathetic, he also sounded stern and willing to take action to protect the Christian faith and unite all Christians in continuing to bring the nation forward.

Trump announced during his speech that his Department of Education would soon distribute guidelines to schools nationwide, which would protect the right to prayer within their walls, a sign of a right to action after the attacks on Christian schools throughout the nation. Additionally, the President launched an initiative known as "America Prays," which is part of the celebration of America's 250th birthday, in which over 70 different faith organizations and churches have joined together to participate. The goal of the project is to recommit our nation's people to being One Nation Under God by praying for one hour a week for America. Through this project, the Trump Administration has provided materials, resources, and an organizational effort to bring prayer back to America in the most effective way possible during the country's most challenging times.

Trump's intent to rededicate America to its Christian origins is not only a commitment, but a transformation into what the United States was founded to be. Regardless of the left's attempts to secularize our people and the society that surrounds them, President Trump has made it clear that he wants America to represent itself as the Christian nation it was intended to be by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin.

With a government that works under a God that "governs in the affairs of men," as said by Franklin, America's government can operate as a nation that protects the God-given rights every citizen of the United States is granted. Our sovereignty must be protected above all else. With an administration committed to taking the necessary action to ensure that Christians can pray, serve, and have faith in God, there is no doubt that our country will have the accessibility to be spiritually preserved. The freedom for faith in God to spread throughout the country and the world is precisely what President Trump wants to prioritize, and through actions such as those he discussed in his speech, a new Moral Majority may have the chance to emerge.
