The Thoughtcrime crew appeared live at Turning Point USA’s America Fest on Thursday, during which they fielded questions live from the audience, including from one woman who asked who would be the voice of young women in the country.
"Charlie Kirk came and he brought the young men into the fold. Erika Kirk is here to bring the young women over," said Tyler Bowyer. "This is important, because we love our women at the National Federation for Republican Women. You do incredible work. But what we’ve noticed at Turning Point is when you start to change the dialogue with young people, it impacts upwards. And this happens a lot. Like I see myself now, I’ve got a teenager, and when he’s doing stuff, I start going, 'oh that’s cool now I guess. I have to change what I listen to, how I talk, and things like that."
"You start to follow what younger people do kind of abnormally, because it's trendy and it's cool, that’s what we see on TV, and that's what's interesting. And in media, the conservative movement had struggled for many, many years prior to Turning Point coming around, because there just wasn't as much of a youth focus. What I love about this is we've got people of all ages that are here, but like, this is a cool party where people are feeling like, like, the conservative movement’s alive and well, and maybe a little bit cooler than it was 10 years ago."
"And that's really important for young men, but that's also really, really critical for young women that feel sometimes excluded in the conservative movement because things just don't feel cool. And when you look at Erica Kirk, she's a great example of everything that's cool, being a mom, you know, standing up and being bold, still on conservative principles, you know, being able to wear a dress, not having to walk around in a pantsuit like the left does," he continued.
Turning Point Chief of Staff Mikey McCoy said, "but to Tyler’s point, for the first time in American Fest history, there are more women at this event than men. That’s just saying, the Erika Kirk effect is real, and young women and women in general are listening."
Bowyer chimed in, saying that at other conservative events, "it’s a really bad ratio for girls, and they don’t show up," when there’s more guys than girls. "Now, there’s actually more girls here than guys."
Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec said, "There have been a lot of Turning Point couples and Turning Point Marriages, and we’re even getting to the era where we’re seeing like, Turning Point babies that have come about from those couples." He said, after asking for people to lift up their babies in the crowd, "Charlie would have loved this. Charlie does love this because he’s looking down, he’s seeing the baby boom."
He noted a recent speech he gave in New York City about incoming mayor Zohran Mamdani, adding, "you know what struck me, though, is that Zohran Mamdani and Charlie Kirk are almost the same age… and you look at the lives they’ve led, and they’re completely different. One is whiny, angry, parasitic, just a nut job who thinks that you should tear people down and tear systems down, take from others and give to yourself, kind of guy, and that’s the system that he’s offering to young men."
"And you look at what Charlie offered, look at what Charlie offered to young men. Young men, if you want to find an Erika, then you got to be a Charlie. And to young women, if you want to find a Charlie, you got to be an Erika, all right, and that's the example that we should be using to push forward to say you don't have to be bitter and angry, by the way, young white men in this country do have a lot of reason to be upset because the entire system is against them, and we are going to be fighting that tooth and nail, but I promise you, there is a system that shows you a way forward, that you can get married, you can have kids, you put God at the center, and you don't need the lies of Marxism that are pushed by the likes of Zohran Mamdani."
