Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec spoke with his brother, Kevin Posobiec, following the June 1 presidential election in Poland, where conservative candidate Karol Nawrocki secured a narrow victory over liberal rival Rafal Trzaskowski.

Nawrocki, backed by the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, won 50.89 percent of the vote in Sunday’s run-off, narrowly defeating Trzaskowski, who received 49.11 percent. The result is another indicator of the country’s deep political divide, with Nawrocki running on a platform that focused on traditional values, national sovereignty, and alignment with US President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Jack Posobiec highlighted the reaction from US media outlets, especially MSNBC, to the news of Nawrocki’s likely abortion veto. “Did you hear MSNBC? They’re freaking out because they just found out that one of the things that’s on the agenda right now, the Polish liberals have been trying to legalize abortion—abortion, by the way, currently illegal in Poland,” he said.
“They just found out that the new president, Nawrocki, he’s going to—wait for it—veto the legislation. Abortion will remain illegal in Poland.”
Kevin Posobiec emphasized that Poland’s pro-life stance is rooted in deep cultural and religious values. “I have a message for MSNBC—‘Bóg, Honor, Ojczyzna,’” he said, quoting Poland’s national motto, which translates to “God, Honor, Fatherland.”
“They can’t mess with that… it’s almost the same as the Heartbeat bill—but really, they’re not for sale.”
According to Kevin Posobiec, abortion is seen in Poland not just as a political issue, but as a moral one tied to the country’s Catholic identity. “Poland doesn’t want any of their young men to go to Ukraine to battle in the war and they don’t want their kids to be killed. They don’t want them chopped up,” he said. “What you see in America, what happens to these foetuses, are children.”
Kevin Posobiec said that Poland’s approach is simple but effective, grounded in faith and traditional family values. “People make fun of Polish people as being dumb and simple, but really, some of the solutions—and thankfully through our Catholic faith—it can be that simple. It’s in the catechism, just respecting life. We are pro-life, pro-God, pro-family, pro-2A in America. It can be that simple and we can keep it that way.”

Kevin responded that supporters are still absorbing the outcome. “They said earlier, they’re still kind of in shock of what’s happening. It should be this week, sometime,” he said, adding that he looks forward to seeing the new president’s victory rally and potentially another visit to the US.
