JACK POSOBIEC: The path to a true 'fortress America'

In this game of global chess, America needs to start taking the queen.

In this game of global chess, America needs to start taking the queen.

Listen up, America. It's time to get real about what "Fortress America" truly means. And no, by "Fortress America," I don't mean some Leftist caricature, or  vague, feel-good patriotism. I mean a vision that secures our strategic interests and asserts our dominance in a world where, frankly, everyone else is playing chess while we've been not so much playing checkers as drooling on the board, expecting someone else to make a mistake.

President-elect Trump understands that can't continue, which is why he's committed to making America expand not just its military, but also its borders. You only have to look at his innovative and daring pushes to annex of Greenland and retake the Panama Canal to see that. I won't mince words: he's right about both. And both are ripe for the taking. Let me explain.

First off, let's address Greenland. Contrary to what you might think, taking Greenland isn't just a meme, nor is it just about owning more land; it's about securing our future. Greenland is not merely a frozen island in the middle of the Atlantic: it's a vast swath of untapped potential. Imagine controlling a land 47% larger than Alaska, rich with rare earth minerals that could reduce our reliance on China. Strategic military bases? Check. New Arctic shipping lanes? Double check.

Not to mention, we've been providing military defense to Greenland for far longer than most like to admit, which, let's face it, grants us certain rights to it. If we wanted to take it, who could stop us? The Danes? Bless their hearts, they can barely defend themselves, let alone Greenland. Which is why I'm calling on President-elect Trump's administration to liberate Greenland from colonial oppression, not for the sake of Denmark's goodwill, but for our national security. We're talking about the future here, folks. Greenland isn't just an island; it's our strategic fortress in the north.

Now, on to the Panama Canal. Here's a history lesson for those who've forgotten: Americans built it, Americans died for it, and thus, it should always belong to America. In the words of Ronald Reagan, "we bought it, we paid for it, it's ours." Giving it up was one of the worst blunders of the 20th century. Now, we're watching China expand its influence over this vital artery, and we're paying them for the privilege of our own demise.

Taking back the Panama Canal isn't about imperialism; it's about rectifying a historical mistake and ensuring that our economic and military lifelines are in our own hands. This isn't just about shipping lanes; it's about national security, about not letting the CCP screw us in our own backyard while we foot the bill. It's time to move out of the era of the Gulf of Mexico and enter the era of the Gulf of America.

However, there is one part of our backyard that we're not interested in seizing -- at all -- and for a very good reason: Canada. Memes about the 51st state aside, Canada is not on our expansion list. We don't need another state north of us. We're not looking to absorb more welfare states or deal with Trudeau's socialist shenanigans. Our focus is on strategic assets, not diluting our sovereignty with neighbors who can't manage their own affairs. Not to mention, if Canada did become the "51st state," can you imagine what its Congressional delegation would look like? How many electoral votes it would get? Here's a hint: California would look like a purple state in comparison, and Canada has only slightly less people than California. Do you want to add another 54 guaranteed electoral votes for the Democrats on top of their existing numbers? Yeah, me neither. In other words, Canada can keep its cold, socialist, migrant-filled paradise. They're basically the Belarus of America.

So here's the reality about why we need "Fortress America": In a world where global powers are reshaping the map, sitting idly by is not an option. Greenland and the Panama Canal are about a million times more important to the United States than any foreign entanglement like Afghanistan ever was.

This isn't just about land or resources; it's about safeguarding our future, ensuring that America remains the global superpower it's meant to be. It's about telling the world, "We're back, and we're playing to win." We need to stop letting our adversaries dictate our fate. Greenland and the Panama Canal are strategic masterstrokes for our national security. Let's not just talk about America First; let's act on it, decisively and without apology.

Here's to a true 'Fortress America'—because in this game of global chess, America needs to start taking bishops.
