A magnitude 7.4 earthquake has occurred off the coast of the Miyagi province on Japan’s northeastern coast.
A tsunami alert has been issued, covering much of the east coast of Japan – the same areas devastated by the massive earthquake and tsunami last month. A much smaller wave, of up to one meter in size, is anticipated. Here’s hoping it turns out to be nothing at all.
Update: The AP reports the tsunami alert has been lifted. Thankfully, no damage has been reported. Authorities at the Fukushima nuclear plant say everything is roughly as horrible as it was before the new earthquake.
