Terrorism investigations of jihad in America will commence early in the new 112th Congress with a fearless, no-nonsense New Yorker at the helm. Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), the next chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, told the New York Times that hearings in his committee early next year will center on the radicalization of the Muslim community in the U.S.
King explained that the planned hearings were prompted by frequent concerns raised by law enforcement officials over uncooperative Muslim leaders in terror investigations. "When I meet with law enforcement, they are constantly telling me how little cooperation they get from Muslim leaders,” King told the Times.
In the report King cited the case of Najibullah Zazi, an Afghan man and a legal resident of the United States, who was arrested last year for plotting to bomb the New York subway system. He said that Ahmad Wais Afzali, an imam in Queens who had been a police informant, had warned Zazi before his arrest that he was the target of a terror investigation.
Whatever the impetus, hearings into the widespread presence of Muslim jihadi organizations in the U.S. are long overdue.
Mr. King could start in the big domed building where he works since the recent unearthing of videotape evidence exposes known al Qaeda operatives as recently as April of 2010 leading prayers for the Congressional Muslim Staff Association on Capitol Hill itself. A competent investigation just might find that the presence of al Qaeda on Capitol Hill poses a threat to the safety of members of Congress.
The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) has made great strides in its infiltration of American government and institutions. The MB is the original jihadi organization founded in 1928 in Egypt. One of the violent military arms of the MB is better known to Americans as Hamas.
The U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation (HLF) was the largest successful prosecution of terrorist funders in American history. Documents entered into evidence at trial provide a treasure trove of information on MB and its thriving front organizations in America. One such document entered into evidence is the terrorist group's strategic plan for North America which was unearthed in an FBI raid in 2004 in Annandale, Va.
“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ’sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions,” the MB strategic plan for North America states.
The document also provides a handy list (English translation begins on page 15) of MB front groups established in the U.S. to facilitate this grand jihad.
Groups listed as MB front organizations in the captured documents include the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) who - along with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) - are documented in this 2003 testimony before the Senate as using Wahhabi, Saudi Arabian government money, among others, to finance and own a whopping 50-80% of all mosques in the U.S.
Another group found on the list of MB front groups in America is the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) - the Hamas terror group's American affiliate - which lists CAIR as a member. Both Omar Ahmed and Nihad Awad are CAIR co-founders who currently serve as CAIR's chairman emeritus and executive director, respectively. Ahmed and Awad were also listed as individual members of the MB's Palestine Committee in America.
CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the HLF trial having opened its first office right here in America with seed money provided by the now-defunct Muslim charity that was shut down for financing terrorism.
The list of unindicted co-conspirators from the HLF trial provides a functional working list for investigations and hearings since the Obama Justice Department appears to be too busy suing Arizona for protecting her own citizenry to prosecute any more terrorist funders. (In other news, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is focused like a laser at the moment on "environmental justice".)
As reported on HUMAN EVENTS, Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization front groups are training U.S. airport screeners as well as participating in FBI "Citizen Academy" counter-terrorism outreach programs while attending confabs with the White House and even receiving special instruction from the Obama administration on how to tap into taxpayer dollars through government grants.
The jihadis have a battleplan while America is mired in multi-culti political correctness.
Perhaps a straightforward New Yorker like Congressman Pete King can expose enough of the MB structure to kneecap the jihadis before we suffer another attack on American soil of catastrophic proportions.
At this point only public outrage will force action - perhaps in time to save a few American lives.
