Two-thirds of Senate Democrats voted to filibuster the Patriot Act today—falling short in their attempt to derail renewal of the controversial anti-terrorism law.
The 29 Democrats who voted to filibuster the Patriot Act included four Democrats in competitive seats up for re-election this November: Michigan (Debbie Stabenow), New Jersey (Robert Menendez), Washington (Maria Cantwell) and West Virginia (Robert Byrd).
