No Change on ANWR

Conspicuous by its absence from President Bush's State of the Union Address was a call for Congress to finally allow oil drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Reserve (ANWR). Nonetheless, allowing ANWR drilling still apparently has the President's support.

When Gizzi asked McClellan last week about the issue, McClellan assured him that "nothing has changed" in the President's support for drilling. When Gizzi asked if the President would make an effort to secure congressional approval of it, McClellan replied: "That's correct."
