Setting the Record Straight: Teresa and Edwards

In Teresa Heinz Kerry’s speech last night at the Democratic National Convention, she commented that “…I want to acknowledge and honor the women of this world, whose wise voices for much too long have been excluded and discounted. It is time for the world to hear women’s voices, in full and at last.”

So, let’s refer to The Official Handbook of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and see what we can learn.

Teresa’s Liberal Lie:

  • Women’s voices are ignored and their opinions don’t count.

    Fact:

  • Republicans have handed women the biggest opportunities including Sandra Day O’Connor and Condoleezza Rice
  • 52% of voters are women and they out number men in all but 2 states
  • Women hold more than 1/2 the wealth in the U.S.
  • Women make up more than 50% of college students and over half the applicants to medical and laws schools are women
  • Women in the U.S. today enjoy more freedoms, rights, professional success, and opportunities than at any other moment in history or place in the world.

… And tonight what will John Edwards say? Edwards, a trial lawyer, claims to “fight for the common man”, yet his record says otherwise:

    Fact:

  • He led the fight against exempting Pro-Bono doctors from Malpractice Liability–making it more difficult for doctors to help people who can least afford doctors
  • He voted to kill Medical Malpractice Reform in 2002 and 2003–allowing malpractice premiums to skyrocket

The Official Handbook of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, a New York Times Bestseller, shows why the liberals are wrong on virtually every important issue and is a witty, all-in-one answer guide that will help millions of members win political debates and take on the looniest of liberal.
