“I have been really frustrated by the criticisms, because it is straight disinformation. It is completely inaccurate."

British Physician Dr. Hilary Cass, who recently published a report about transgender care in the UK, revealed that she can no longer use public transportation because of threats by activists who oppose her research.

Earlier this month, Cass published the “Cass Review,” which found that “evidence base for gender care in young people had been thin and children had been let down by a 'toxic' public discourse around gender,” according to the Daily Mail

Cass revealed the personal toll the backlash has taken, stating that she now refrains from using public transportation due to threats from activists opposed to her report on trans medicine. She explained that the messages she has received have been “vile,” and she has been given security advice to help her stay safe.

Expressing frustration with the criticism she has faced, Cass emphasized that much of it is based on misinformation.

“I have been really frustrated by the criticisms, because it is straight disinformation. It is completely inaccurate,” Cass said in an interview with The Times

“If you deliberately try to undermine a report that has looked at the evidence of children's healthcare, then that's unforgivable. You are putting children at risk by doing that,” she continued.

The Cass Report presented over 32 recommendations to the NHS aimed at restructuring the medical system to better address the needs of transgender youth in Britain. It characterized a segment of the medical field as operating on “shaky foundations,” particularly regarding the prescription of hormones to transgender-identifying minors for puberty suppression or gender transition.

In response to the findings of the Cass Review, NHS England has announced plans for a second appraisal of adult gender clinics, following a similar format to the Cass Review. However, Cass confirmed to The Times that she will not participate in the adult report due to the abuse she has endured in recent weeks.

“You heard it right here: I am not going to do the adult gender clinic review,” she said.
