DAVID KRAYDEN: The story of 2023 is the story of normalizing tyranny

No matter where you live, you must continue to resolve to resist authoritarianism.

No matter where you live, you must continue to resolve to resist authoritarianism.

As we enter 2024, we stand on the precipice of catastrophe.

There is little to be optimistic about as 2023 ends. While it is true that the year did not bring a nuclear war with Russia, it was more a result of sheer luck than design. Quite simply, President Joe Biden – or what’s left of him – has no plan in Ukraine other than to continue funneling unaccountable funds to a corrupt, dictatorial government run by a corrupt, dictatorial clown: an actor named Volodymyr Zelensky who is playing the role of a lifetime as the president of a vanishing state.

And it is vanishing. Ukraine was already in the midst of a demographic disaster prior to the war, but has probably lost about one-fifth of its population since the war began: either as cannon fodder on the battlefields or to accelerated emigration.

The carnage on the battlefield is of no concern to Biden or his handlers or to the RINOs in the Congress who have watched the slaughter with ecstasy. Remember uni-party chieftain Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who celebrated the billions of dollars sent to the black hole of Kyiv as “the best money we’ve ever spent” because “Russians are dying.”

You can just imagine this moron of a political hack musing in another age about the devastation of the First World War and celebrating the millions of dead on that battlefield in that pointless conflict, so exuberantly happy that the armaments manufacturers were getting their due and that the enemy, they were Germans in that moment, were dying in massive numbers.

Well, Lindsey, Ukrainians were also dying – when they didn’t have to. This war could have been over soon after it began but people like you and the delusional leaders of NATO, who still think this once-great organization has a rational strategic purpose today, wanted it to continue because it was apparently going to bring Russia to its knees.

And be replaced with what? Another communist regime?

NATO was always an exclusive club with membership paid for by the United States but at least it had a raison d’etre in containing Soviet communism. Today it is a military YMCA that anyone but Russia can join and should accept the reality of its redundancy.

The war in Ukraine will soon be over and the United States will have spent billions of dollars to kill Russians and Ukrainians and to ensure that the corrupt politicians and oligarchs who run Ukraine will have sufficient funds to begin new lives somewhere else in the post-war world. Uncle Sam has been played for a sucker and Uncle Joe Biden – at least in his rare moments of cognizance – realized that.

Or at least his handlers knew that.

Of course there is another war raging over Christmas and that one shows no signs of abating but every sign of escalating into a regional and potentially global conflict. If the warmongers in the State Department missed their chance for a nuclear exchange in Ukraine, they could well find a literal Armageddon in Gaza.

So while we might be grateful that we are not sitting at home in forced isolation or occupying the corner of a barroom wearing a mask; we might rejoice that no one is forcing us to take another vaccine bioweapon and lower our immunity still further.

But once again we are immersed in foreign wars that are both an existential threat to life on the planet and a convenient diversion for democratic governments that no longer seek to be democratic – or a Democratic Party that has long ceased to believe in any democratic ideals.

Whether it is the Covid pandemic or foreign wars, the byword of our teetering Western Civilization is crisis, constant crisis, The kind of chronic emergency that characterized Oceania in George Orwell’s increasingly relevant 1984.

“What’s it all about?” you might ask.

Well, we might glean some notion of that objective by turning our attention to Canada and the words of its febrile prime minister, Justin Trudeau. Mention Covid and “the great reset” in the same sentence and someone is bound to call you a conspiracy theorist. But of course Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum talk about the great reset frequently.

Trudeau came close to saying it in September 2020.

When Tucker Carlson was still pushing the envelope on Fox News as the most popular news anchor on cable news, he broadcast a video of Trudeau that had hitherto gone largely unnoticed.

“Watch this video from September,” Carlson instructed viewers during the Nov. 17, 2020 broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“You may not have seen it, it wasn’t played much in this country. This is the prime minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, speaking to the United Nations.”

“This pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset. So this is our chance to accelerate our prepandemic efforts to reimagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality, and climate change,” Trudeau can be seen saying in a video recording.

Uh-huh. There it is.

Politicians like Trudeau and Biden used the pandemic not only to take away your freedoms – to force you to take a dangerous vaccine, compel you to mask up constantly and put you into absurd lockdowns – but to normalize authoritarian behavior and suggest that it is all for your own good.

Covid is over but the crisis is not. You got used to the government stomping on your heads during the pandemic but that was just the beginning. Biden has continued to spend money on phony infrastructure bills, continued to use the justice department to persecute and prosecute his political opponents from the hapless Jan. 6 protesters who linger in jail for touring the Capitol to former President Donald Trump who could go to jail for insulting the Deep State.

And now Biden is bypassing Congress to authorize $106.5 million for tank shells. Yeah, you guessed it: it’s an emergency decree.

Trudeau, meanwhile, has continued to rule like the Justin Castro many say he really is. After crushing the Freedom Convoy trucker protest with martial law legislation called the Emergencies Act, he has instituted a regime of censorship that will soon culminate with an Online Safety Act that will outlaw misinformation and disinformation without even bothering to define what these terms mean. What they mean will be determined by Trudeau and the Liberal Party. It’s all for our safety.

His madman environment minister, Steven Guilbeailt, is sending Canadians into caves with insane net zero energy regulations and heat pumps that won’t work in northern winters. He recently announced the end of gas-powered cars and trucks by 2035 just like Joseph Stalin declared the end of private farming at the end of the next Five Year Plan.

Yes, it’s insane. Both dictates came from the extremist minds of ideologically-obsessed tyrants.

Remember how Trudeau said in the quotation above, that the “reset” could be used to “fight” climate change?

But if there’s any time left, it’s time to fight back.

No matter where you live, you must continue to resolve to resist authoritarianism. The tyranny was once encroaching upon our society; now it is swamping us. For Americans, it must be not just America first but democracy first. The crisis is not in Ukraine or Gaza; it is at the southern border and in your own backyard. That is a crisis you can solve by electing people who care about freedom.

Do not let these petty dictators in the White House and Congress normalize tyranny. It is not normal and it is not moral.

The choice is yours.
