On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a video of weapons found inside a Hamas-operated hospital in Gaza during the Jewish state’s response to the Oct. 7 terrorist attack that killed over 1,200 civilians.

Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus gave a tour of the al-Shifa Hospital, and showed weapons behind an MRI machine, including an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, grenades, military uniforms, and a backpack with military intelligence.

He narrated, "A few of the most interesting things that we found totally confirms, without any doubt, that Hamas systematically uses hospitals in their military operations, in violation of international law.”

In another MRI room, he showed more of the same, plus more rifles and ammunition inside a closet.

Conricus continued, "These weapons have absolutely no business being inside a hospital. The only reason they're here is because Hamas put them here, because they use this place like many other hospitals and ambulances and sensitive facilities inside the Gaza Strip for their illicit military purposes."

In another room, in a cabinet that was supposed to have medical equipment, the IDF found food, ammo magazines, AK-47s, and tactical equipment, as well as ballistic vests and bags with Hamas insignias.

Laptops were also discovered which were reportedly being analyzed by Israeli intelligence.

According to Israeli officials, the hospital is being used as a cover for the main Hamas command center underneath the building.

The day before, the IDF showed weapons and terror tunnels it had found in a nearby children's hospital, as well as weapons and evidence indicating hostages had been kept in the facility.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Air Force One on Tuesday, "I can confirm for you that we have information that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad use some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including al-Shifa, and tunnels underneath them, to conceal and to support their military operations and to hold hostages.”
