AUSTIN PETERSEN: The Israeli parents who took out 7 Hamas terrorists to protect their children from massacre exemplify the importance of our 2A rights

If the tale of Adar and Itay Berdychivsky, who put down 7 Hamas terrorists protecting their children, doesn't prove the need for gun rights, then what does?

If the tale of Adar and Itay Berdychivsky, who put down 7 Hamas terrorists protecting their children, doesn't prove the need for gun rights, then what does?

When Hamas militants descended on the home of parents Adar and Itay Berdychivsky, they quickly hid their children in a safe house, grabbed their rifles and ended the lives of 7 terrorists before succumbing. Underneath the corpses of the human scum they killed lies every gun control argument ever made against our right to bear arms. Rest in pieces.

The Berdychivskys shielded their 10-month-old twins in a reinforced security room, a 'mammad,' as mandated by Israeli law. They then returned to the main house, determined to divert the attention of the militants away from their children. A fierce confrontation unfolded in which Adar and Itay confronted and defeated seven Hamas militants. However, the cost – their lives -- was tragically high.

Their children were left alone in the hiding place for a grueling 13 hours. It was a nightmare drama of Shakespearian proportions, but their story took a turn towards hope when their uncle and grandfather arrived. Despite their own battles against the militants, they found the precious ones in the security room, safe and unharmed. The Berdychivsky children, though orphaned, are now surrounded by love and care.

The Berdychivsky story exemplifies the right to bear arms. As if two years of pandemic tyranny around the world, people being welded into apartments, forcible medical procedures, and worse weren’t enough, it strains belief that anyone could hear this story and still believe that citizens “don’t need AR15s.” That kind of thinking is not only stupid, but dangerous, as well.

We can’t allow anti-gun groups around the world, or especially in the United States, to continue to spread their nonsense in the face of potential domestic terrorist threats; of which there are many. Already, we’ve seen a Minneapolis man assaulted in his vehicle by rioters at a Pro-Palestine protest. This is a man who “needs” a short-barreled rifle, a suppressor to protect his ears, and 60 round mags TO START!

In 2018 while seeking the nomination of the Republican party for US Senate in Missouri I was engaged in a war of words with the notorious Montel Williams and Shannon Watts over my giveaway of a free AR-15 in a raffle. Watts and Williams were so enraged that they actually tagged the FBI on Twitter to report me to the feds, to which I replied “Call the Cops, IDGAF.” Since then I’ve gifted multiple firearms, AR-15s, AK-47s, pistols, and even firearm manufacturing drills like the Ghost Gunner machine (as well as a bump stock or two before ol’ Trumpy bear banned em).

The United States has an estimated 400 million guns in private hands, with 40% of all privately held guns in the world despite being only 4% of the population. Those are rookie numbers. We need to bump those numbers up. But more than just sheer numbers are required; we need better quality guns, including machine guns manufactured after 1986. We need more readily concealable submachine guns that fit under our jackets, again with the suppressors that will make killing terrorists or stopping mass shooters much more pleasing to the ear, and polite to the neighbors.

We should do this, and abolish the National Firearms Act entirely. I propose the new law outlawing the NFA be called, The Adar and Itay Berdychivsky Act of 2025. Trump should just have enough time to sign it when he takes back over next year. Hopefully he’s changed his mind on the bump stocks. Because Americans, just like Israelis, are only beginning to realize that we need them, and much more, to beat back the terrorist threat that’s desperate to infect every nation in the First World.
