Outrage ensues after French soccer player laughs during moment of silence for Israel-Hamas war victims

French soccer defender Jean-Clair Todibo made some sports fans furious after he was caught laughing during a moment of silence that was called for victims amid the Israel-Hamas war.

The 23-year-old soccer player was seen smiling at the bench while others including manager Didier Deschamps in addition to players Olivier Giroud and Benjamin Pavard stood expressionless.

A video of the incident shows Todibo with a smirk on his face before bowing his head as the camera pans in his direction.

Numerous people expressed their outrage over the display on social media.

"Drop him over in Gaza since it's so funny," one user posted on X.

"The French Football team symbolizes the decay of French Culture," commented another.

"Remove him ! That was evil!"

Numerous people called for the cancellation and firing of Todibo.

Todibo was reportedly an unused substitute for France and used to play for FC Barcelona. He made his intentional debut last month during a match against Germany.

In the past, Todibo famously rejected an opportunity to join and play for the Manchester United soccer team.

Some have also gone to Todibo's personal social media to comment after the incident; one comment on the soccer player's Instagram said "Shame on you," while another wrote, "Deport him."

"So is it funny to hold a minute of silence for a victim of terrorism?" a different user commented on the social media page. "Outside!"

Over 1,300 Israelis, mostly civilians, were reportedly murdered last Saturday when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel at daybreak, killing men, women, and children in the most heinous attack on Israel since 1973.
