SAVANAH HERNANDEZ: Black Lives Matter frantically backpedals from Hamas support after backlash

Last weekend, Hamas terrorists launched an attack on Israel that has left over 2,000 people dead. In the aftermath of the event, many are condemning the terroristic acts of Hamas, which first targeted a music festival, killing women and parading their bodies through the streets.

Terrorists have also targeted children, burning many of them alive, according to the Israeli Prime Minister. Despite these acts, Black Lives Matter shared a graphic earlier this week supporting Hamas, which they have since retracted due to intense backlash.

After Hamas launched its attack on Israel one of the first stories that went viral surrounded paragliders who attacked Israel from the air over the weekend.

The imagery of a paraglider, used as a defining moment of the initial attack, was shared by the Chicago chapter of the Black Lives Matter organization on Tuesday, with the group posting an image of a paraglider with a Palestinian flag with “I stand with Palestine” written beneath.

The post, which garnered significant outrage, has since been deleted, however, many have condemned Black Lives Matter while lauding them for finally showing their true colors.

Many others commented that Black Lives Matter’s support of terroristic acts wasn’t surprising, equating their support of terrorism abroad to the violence and looting they perpetuated and promoted on the streets of America back in 2020.

Even the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) finally had to denounce the BLM chapter. ADL’s CEO Jonathan Greenblatt stated, “The post shared in recent days by BLM chapters in Chicago & LA & other fringe groups, glorifying the Hamas terrorists who used hang gliders to infiltrate Israel, slaughtering over 1,000 innocents, is beyond sick & twisted. It’s antisemitic, dehumanizing & could prompt violence.”

Despite his statement, the ADL still has not listed BLM as an “extremist” group on their website, despite having TPUSA’s Chaya Raichik’s name on their “Glossary of Extremism” page for her “Libs of TikTok” social media account.

BLM Chicago, which has more than 60,000 followers on X, has since deleted the post, retracting their initial support, tweeting, “Yesterday we sent out (messages) that we aren’t proud of,” they wrote. “We stand with Palestine & the people who will do what they must to live free.”

The New York Post reported that the Chicago chapter’s retraction came after the BLM Global Network Foundation, “reportedly made clear it is not connected to the Chicago offshoot or Black Lives Matter Grassroots group that is also under fire over posts tied to the Hamas attack.”

Black Lives Matter isn’t the only group in hot water for their support of the Hamas terrorist attack; law students at both Harvard and NYU have allegedly lost job offers after publicly supporting the terroristic acts of Hamas.
