Climate activists prevent UK mother from taking her baby to the hospital

On Friday, Just Stop Oil climate protestors blocking traffic in west London prevented a woman from taking her child to the hospital, and ignored her pleas to let her car through their slow march.

In a video, the mother is seen yelling at one protestor pointing to the car, and telling him that she has a baby. Getting increasingly frustrated, she yells, "Move! Now! There is a baby in that car that is going to the hospital. now move."

As the protest moves down the street, the driver of the woman's car asks them, "What kind of people are you?" He added, "This woman has a real newborn baby, guys."

The man in the car behind them said, "Move the car, someone is going to the hospital." He told one of the protestors, "You make more pollution, someone is going to the hospital."

According to the Daily Mail, another mother berated the activist asking them, "Who are you to decide who gets to gets to go? You're not f***ing God." She added, "People pay to be on these roads. Don't tell me you've never got in a f***ing car."

The incident was part of a larger protest put on across London this week by the organization. In one instance, a pregnant woman's boyfriend punched and kicked a protester after her car crashed near them.

The organization said after the incident that "Daniel was assaulted while marching this morning and remained nonviolent throughout. Disruption is difficult, but it's necessary."

In another instance, a large bus slowly pushed protesters along as they attempted to block the street he was traveling on. A man told the group to get a job and that "They've never worked a day in their life."

On its website, Just Stop Oil has articles from this week detailing the "disruptions" it was involved with. Included in that was paint being thrown on on buildings such as the Department for Energy Security on Wednesday.

In a video on Twitter, a protester claimed, while being arrested, "'I'm doing this to prevent ecocide and genocide for the children of the future...this is what we have to do now. It's unraveling. This is what it's come to. This isn't something that will happen in the future it's started to happen now."

The reaction to these incidents appears to push people away from their cause. One Twitter user wrote, "Blocking traffic does nothing to help their causes. It only pisses people off and makes them want nothing to do with you or what your advocate for."

"Just stop oil have utterly no morals. What kind of individual stops a baby going to hospital? But they all stood there and did it? They're a cult of paid shills who don't in reality care about humans. Awful people," another wrote.

The activist group claims to be "a nonviolent civil resistance group demanding the UK Government stop licensing all new oil, gas, and coal projects."
