POSOBIEC: George Floyd's 'murderversary' is a reminder of the BLM-led riots that destroyed American cities

Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec recently invited his audience to acknowledge Murderversary Day in America, as the third-year anniversary of George Floyd was marked on Thursday. Thousands of people took to the streets all across the US, led by Black Lives Matter (BLM), an organization that claims to care about black lives.

Posobiec noted that BLM finds itself in something of a sticky situation, as the regressive organization is on the cusp of bankruptcy, taking an $8.5 million deficit last year. “The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation saw the value of investment accounts fall by about $10 million, according to a copy of their tax return,” Posobiec said.

Posobiec continued: “Now, keep in mind, this was the foundation set up by Black Lives Matter in the wake of the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the killing of a 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. [It] is not the only organization, but it is the most well-known one.” The BLM organization reached its pinnacle with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which resulted in major riots that ripped through the US, with endless damage to property and dozens of deaths.

It was during this time that CHAZ was created in Seattle, which was characterized by Mayor Jenny Durkin as the “Summer of Love,” but it was really a lawless place that experienced three shootings in the short time it was up and running. Posobiec, who reported undercover from the occupation, said that there were three “mass shootings” in the dangerous area, ultimately calling the George Floyd riots the most damaging riots that had taken place in the US.

The Washington Examiner reported that the gun murder rate among black victims has soared to the levels it was at in the 1990s, and that the homicide rate in black communities has also risen to the levels of the 1990s, which raises questions about how effective BLM really is at what they claim to be doing. The report notes that about 55 black men are killed by firearms per 100,000 people, which is the highest it has been in 30 years.

“The crime research has been a massive concern in black communities," Posobiec said, "with 81 percent of registered black voters saying crime was very important to their vote in the midterms. The problem with this, of course, is that when you break it out, the white homicide rate is still very low. The Hispanic murder rate, homicide rate, is rising, but it's still very, very low but the black homicide rate, all the way back up to those 1990 levels.”

The underlying question being what BLM is actually doing to bring down gun crime in black communities, which is out of control. However, what BLM leadership appears to be good at is stuffing their own pockets with millions of dollars, all at the expense of those they purport to be supporting and caring for. The report noted that though BLM was financially struggling, it still continued “to give out seven-figure salaries and contracts to relatives of the founder Patrisse Cullors.”
