In the latest news from the inquisition that keeps on giving, the January 6 committee subpoenaed four of Trump’s closest allies.

Indeed, the committee issued subpoenas for information from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, former deputy chief of staff Daniel Scavino, former adviser Stephen Bannon and former Pentagon chief of staff Kash Patel.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the committee is demanding documents by October 7, and depositions the following week.

In letters, the committee said it is searching for information about Trump’s actions before and during the riot.

Bannon was at a meeting the day before the riot, where plans were discussed to try to overturn the election results, Meadows was involved in the planning of efforts to subvert the election results, Scavino was in contact with Trump and others who planned the rallies and Patel was in contact with Meadows, according to the committee.
