> "We see a lot of generals blaming the troops out there today, but it needs to be a situation of accountability.”

In Thursday’s edition of Human Events Daily, Jack Posobiec and The Blaze host Auron MacIntyre broke down the issues that really brought Americans to the polls on Tuesday, in which Republicans lost both the [House and the Senate](https://thepostmillennial.com/news/breaking-dems-take-the-house-in-blue-wave). He and Posobiec spoke on how the Iran war, and rising costs stateside associated with it, were top issues for voters.

MacIntyre said that Tuesday night’s “disaster” of results could have been avoided by “doing exactly what we promised to do, which was to focus entirely on putting America first, focusing entirely on domestic issues, prioritizing things like immigration that were critical to the future of the nation, that were highly popular, which were the only thing that people were turning out to vote for at the end of the day in the 2026 midterms.”

“That is what mattered, and we completely ignored it and told ourselves that it just wasn't going to be a big deal because you know if we had this war, it was going to be short and it wasn't going to matter. And even if it started dragging on a little further, people weren't going to care. But of course, they were going to care.”

He said, “we can't lie to ourselves about what happened here. What we did was we built a media silo. We told people, you know, Fox News was running fake polls saying 95% of MAGA diehards support the war. Well, that's like saying 95% of Christians believe in Jesus Christ.

"It doesn't give you an actual understanding of how popular the war was, and we intentionally told people to shut up, get in line, you know, toe the whole line, and don't ever question what's going on here. We saw the polls, we saw the unpopularity, but we just closed our eyes” like Democrats did with Joe Biden’s deteriorating state and Kamala Harris’ unpopularity.

MacIntyre later noted pundits saying that the war didn’t make a difference to voters, with Posobiec adding that NBC’s exit polling showed that 74 percent of voters said the Iran war affected their voting decision.

MacIntyre said the “silver lining” of the matter is that the neocons “have just poisoned their brands so thoroughly that at this point, no one believes a single word they’re saying.”

He later added, “Everybody sees how they lied through their teeth to push this, and everybody sees now that they're in extreme denial, and so they are just dwindling in influence.”

He said that there are those going around after the midterm losses “blaming the voters, especially blaming like white young men for switching Dem.”

“It turns out if you spend your entire campaign telling these people that you hate them and that they suck and that their issues don't matter and that they should just figure it out and maybe just eat a bunch of beans for the rest of their life, they might not show up to vote for you, and that might be a huge mistake. We see a lot of generals blaming the troops out there today, but it needs to be a situation of accountability.”

Speaking on accountability, MacIntyre applauded [Vice President JD Vance](https://thepostmillennial.com/news/jd-vance-delivers-midterm-postmortem-says-gop-lost-because-of-the-war) for taking “responsibility for what happened in this election.”

“That's the kind of accountability, responsibility we need. We don't need all these low-light or neocon people running around and blaming it on the average voter, on the average young man.”
