> The NY Times' anonymously sourced story pounced on CEO Jensen Huang's friendly rapport with President Donald Trump

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was allegedly the target of a [Chinese](https://humanevents.com/news/trump-hosts-xi-at-tech-titan-studded-white-house-dinner-in-display-of-statesmanship) honeytrap plot, according to a New York Times [report](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/29/us/politics/nvidia-china-jensen-huang-trump.html) Thursday that cited anonymous sources who had been briefed on intelligence surveillance.

However, the company pushed back, saying an investigation last year had found nothing in Huang’s alleged relationship with a Chinese national linked to Singapore-based cloud company Megaspeed to suggest any corporate espionage that might undermine U.S. national security.

“The diversion allegations against this regional cloud were thoroughly investigated and debunked last year,” Nvidia spokesperson John Rizzo said in a statement, according [to CNBC](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/29/nvidia-jensen-huang-chinese-intelligence-asset.html).

The Times report said the alleged honeytrap, who goes by the name Alice Huang, was still under surveillance and was accused of “helping China evade constraints on its ability to gain access to advanced A.I. chips.”

It also pounced on the opportunity to attack President Donald Trump, who has maintained a strong relationship with Huang and other tech leaders as the U.S. tries to maintain its own advantage in the A.I. race.

“\[T\]he revelation that she was feeding information directly to Beijing raised more troubling possibilities, including that Mr. Huang had insights into Mr. Trump’s thinking on an issue of vital importance to both nations, one likely to come up when the president visits China next month,” wrote the six bylined reporters for the Times piece, including Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman.

Trump, who was briefed last year about the intelligence, has continued to host Jensen Huang at events such as a Sept. 29 Super Intelligence Luncheon at the White House.

The anonymous intel sources said that Jensen Huang had not received any security briefings that would have alerted him to concerns about the woman’s suspected ties to Chinese espionage.

“We’re confident that if the U.S. government believes that any person is a threat to American industry, it would let us know,” Rizzo said.

For its part, Nvidia said that Megaspeed was one of many regional-based clients that it worked with, and that Alice Huang was just one of the thousands of customers that its CEO interacted with each year.

Such customers have access only to “ordinary business information — not sensitive Nvidia trade secrets — and zero information relevant to national security,” Rizzo said.

Liu Chang, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, said the whisper campaign amounted to nothing more than “groundless smears and slanders.”

The report comes as the walls begin to close in on one of America's most notorious honeytrap marks, former Democrat California Rep. [Eric Swalwell](https://humanevents.com/news/human-events-daily-its-ridiculous-to-think-democrats-didnt-know-about-skeletons-in-swalwells-closet).

Swalwell, who had access to highly intelligent briefings as a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, was investigated over his alleged sexual relationship with Christine Fang.

Although then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, also a California Democrat, was briefed on the matter, she shrugged off the security threat.

On Tuesday, the FBI raided Swalwell's Beverly Hills mansion, ostensibly in connection with an ongoing investigation into his other sexual improprieties.

The agency previously raided his Washington, DC, home and seized his personal electronic devices.

Swalwell was forced to resign his House seat and drop his bid for California governor after multiple allegations of sexual assault emerged, including some suspected of involving minors.
