Andrew Easton, a Scottish drag queen and co-author of a "trans youth" guide, has been convicted of distributing child pornography. Easton pled guilty to charges related to communicating online with someone he believed was a minor, downloading indecent images of children, and distributing those images.

The illicit materials in Easton's possession included explicit images and videos of prepubescent children and even infants. His activities were uncovered in September 2023 during a sting operation conducted by Scotland’s National Online Child Abuse Prevention unit. Easton’s IP address was identified as one that had accessed and obtained these illegal materials, prompting police to obtain a warrant and search his home.

Police discovered a Telegram chat group titled "Extra Excitement," where Easton had collected over 1,000 videos and images of children. Additionally, chat logs revealed that Easton had communicated with someone who claimed to be 13 years old, whom he referred to as "baby boy," and sent explicit images of himself, according to a report by Reduxx. Easton did not deny the allegations and admitted to obtaining and sharing child pornography.

Despite his crimes and confession, Easton was only sentenced to 200 hours of community service and a three-year supervision period. Sheriff Morag McLaughlin, who issued the sentence, remarked that the crimes "don’t quite reach the threshold for a prison sentence."

Easton was involved in co-authoring a "coming out guide" for transgender-identifying children, which was created for the charity LGBT Youth Scotland. The guide focuses on "various stages of the coming out process” for kids who identify as LGBT. Easton worked with LGBTQ Scotland. "Easton co-authored the charity’s 'coming out guide' for 'trans young people' which was distributed to public schools across the country and is still available on the East Ayrshire Council website. The guide, which heavily promotes LGBT Youth Scotland services, 'looks at the various stages of the coming out process' in a youth-accessible tone, presenting different scenarios and considerations for minors interested in changing their gender identity," Reduxx reported.
