Biden Expected to Announce Stricter COVID-19 International Travel Requirements

Joe Biden is expected to announce Thursday stricter guidelines for those entering the United States amid concerns over the new Omicron variant.

As reported by Just the News, Biden is expected to require anyone entering the United States to get a COVID-19 test one day before travel, and may require travelers to get re-tested three to five days after arrival.

Another more controversial proposal would order all travelers to quarantine for one week.

These rules would apply even if a traveler tests negative, regardless of citizenship, vaccination status or origin country.

Current CDC guidelines require travelers to show a negative test or proof of recovery from the virus, with timing of the test depending on “vaccination status and age.”

All travelers are recommended to get tested days after arriving.
